A very fun Monday

On Monday, we had a busy, fun, and exciting day. It got started off with two very fun boys. Lance and Luke. Eric needed to go to work and Jenny's Uncle had died and the funeral was that morning, so Matt told Eric we would watch the boys until he was done up at the University. Keldrie loved having her cousins over, even if she did struggle with sharing her toys. Every time Luke found something new to play with, Keldrie suddenly wanted the same toy. We watched some Chuggington, Horton hears a Who, and Madagascar. Chuggington is one of Lance and Luke's favorites right now, so I was glad we had something they liked.

Matt was the center of attention all morning long. He took any change to rest that he could. I took advantage of the situation and got lots of laundry done.

It was fun to see the kids all playing together. Around 1:30, Eric came and picked up the boys and we put Keldrie down for her nap. By the time Kel had taken her nap, it was time to get organized and head towards the airport, to pick up Greg from his mission. He had actually finished his two years the Wednesday before, but Steve and Elaine went to Tennessee to tour his mission with him before he came home. We all met at the airport and anxiously waited for Greg to walk out.
Julia and Lance had both colored Greg pictures. They were also the only two who were old enough to really remember Greg from before he left. We watched and waited, and then...

I'm not sure who was the first to spot our missionary, but you better believe the we were all smiling and happy that Greg was home, safe and sound.
Lance was not shy when it came to welcoming home his Uncle/Hero. Lance understands that while Greg was gone, he was being a missionary and that missionaries are very cool, special people. He has idolized Greg these last few years. It is awesome to see.

It took Keldrie a little longer to warm up to Greg, but warm up she did. After the airport, we all drove back to Layton to Training Table. Keldrie did not want to sit next to her mom or her dad, but her Grandpa Smith. And who was across the table from her? Greg. When we left the restaurant, she burst into tears screaming "Gweg! Gweg!" I kept telling her that we were going to Grandma Smith's house and that Greg was going to be there too. It would calm her down for a few minutes and then she would start screaming all over again. Thank goodness it's only about 10 minutes back to Steve and Elaine's house. She was appeased when she saw Greg getting out of the car and eagerly went inside to fight over him with her other cousins. It was a great day and we are so blessed that Greg gave up two years of his life serving the Lord and are so happy he is back here with us now.
