Another trip to the Zoo!

Back in May, my sister Nicole and her son, Hudson, came to visit. We all went to the zoo.  Tyler and my parents came along with Jacki and Averie. It was a fantastic visit to the Zoo! It was a little rainy, but the temperature was great, and the crowds thinned out pretty quick.

We started off at the elephants! It is fun because there is a baby one right now.  He was born last year, I think.

Next was the monkeys and gorillas.  When we were little kids and my dad would take us to the Zoo, he would always say, "Let's go visit Nicole's relatives." 

Averie and Keldrie had matching outfits! We just have good style in this family! 

Waiting for the bird show to start! My dad had a fantastic time.  I think he had more fun than the kids. 

 

After the bird show, we hit up the carousal. Kel always has to sit on the peacock bench. She will NOT sit on one of the ones that goes up and down.  

Hudson picked the Giraffe!

The best part is that Nicole and Hudson AND baby Leo are coming next week! We are so excited!

Lagoon 2013

We love Lagoon! And lucky for Matt and I, our children love it too.  And even luckier for us, Matt's mom lives close enough and is kind enough to come get the kids.  But more on that later! 

After swimming for a bit and finding the water too cold for Keldrie's taste, we got dressed and headed for the kiddie rides.  It is so much fun to watch your own kids enjoying something so much. Our first ride together, Russell did not like.  He then threw up just a little  on our second one and after that, we let Keldrie ride by herself for a few while Russell's stomach calmed down.  Then we were much more selective on what ones we let him ride, poor guy. 

The best part was that after the kids got nice and tired, we called Elaine and met her at the entrance.  She picked up the kids and took them home with her so that Matt and I could go on the big rides together.  We ditched the bags, stroller, and even camera after that, so this is the end of the pictures.  We had a fantastic time and thanks to me being able to teach some swim lessons this summer, it was also almost affordable.

Our Trip to the Dinosaur Museam

We decided to take a trip to the Dinosaur museam, which is something Matt had never done and I hadn't done since I was really young.  So we took our kids are were very happily pleased with the fun stuff they have there. 
The inside is much bigger than I remember and you can see models of dinosaur skeletons and learn about a few of them. They also have an animatronic dinosaur display with two dinosaurs that scared the tar out of Keldrie, but was really pretty cool. The outside was fun too.  There were a few playgrounds and then the outside has several models of the dinosaurs and you can walk around and look at them.  Make sure you bring your walking shoes! It covers quite a big space.

 Here Keldrie is pouting because I wouldn't let her do something, but I can't remember what.

 Russell really enjoyed digging in the sand looking for fossils.

Climbing on the steps.  Behind Russell you can see a volcano replica that they had.  It was a great way to spend a few hours and we had a ball.

And on the way home, we stopped for some ice cream cones! You can't tell, but Matt and I were both there also.
