Randomness

So yesterday was Matt's day off for the week. We went out to this place called Contempo and picked out some tile for our bathrooms and kitchen. Lucky for us, we ended up liking the stuff on sale the best! Got to love it when that happens! After that, we went to a restaurant that Matt had been wanting to try for a long time. It is called the Union Grill and it is inside the old Union Station down on 25th Street in Ogden. We hadn't gone out together in a long time. Keldrie was lucky and got to come too!

I very much enjoyed my burger and green salad. Keldrie enjoyed sucking the ketchup off of the french fries and ate some of those too. Her grilled cheese sandwich went untouched. 

Matt enjoyed his Philly Cheese steak sandwich. It came with some marinara sauce and he said it was delicious! And based on the contents of his plate, I'd say it was. 

There is a fountain out front and Keldrie kept saying "wawa!" Which in Keldrie Language means water. So while Matt paid for lunch, I took her over to look at it. She really liked it, but I kept my distance. The water didn't exactly stay inside the fountain.

Lunch was really good and after that we came home to nap Kel (which was unsuccessful) and do homework. Then Kel got left at my mom's house while Matt and I headed out to the house to do some cleaning up. Matt washed the walls in the master bedroom while I vacuumed the main floor. My dad managed to scrap all the popcorn ceiling off, but it was a little messy. The wallpaper is all but gone. Just a few spots left to get. Here is what else we have been up to lately:

This was a trick I played on myself. I really wanted something dripping in chocolate, but since I am in a weight loss competition, I choose to eat chocolate cereal instead. It worked, for a few hours anyway.

Keldrie tried a tomato. She liked it quite a bit, but when she discovered how easy and fun it was to smash, she decided to do that instead. 

Squeezing every last ounce of good weather out before we are all tied up inside for the winter.

Keldrie loves that Activia Yogurt. I don't know why, but I guess if it keep her regular then that will help her be happy. 

Bath time is her favorite time! After bath sometimes she gets to hang in her robe while Mom picks everything up and gets her jammies. 

So that is us lately. I am kept busy by keeping one household up while trying to put another one together. Matt's level of business is at least double mine with work and two houses and school. And Keldrie is just a happy little girl who sometimes has fun pushing her parent's buttons.  Hope everyone has a fun weekend! 

Pictures, pictures and more pictures!

Here are all the pictures I have been promising. I finally found my camera charger and I went a little crazy today. Matt was less than excited, but he put up with me.

Here is Keldrie first thing in the morning. In the last 10 days or so, Kel has discovered the TV. Rather, she has discovered that if she turns it on at any point in the morning, she has a high chance of finding either Mickey Mouse or Handy Manny. 

Here are my fall decorations!!! They aren't much, but it is a small apartment. 

More decorations! Now where did I find these flowers? Ross of course! And for less than $7 to boot!

Here is my popcorn. It is a few days old at this point, but I just wanted to prove that I did make it.

Keldrie all done up to go over to the new house. That headband stayed on for about 20 seconds after I snapped this picture, but oh well. 

See, hair all messed up. This is what our car looks like when I plan ahead to go to the new house. We are slowly moving stuff we don't need over there. Today's load was outgrown baby clothes and baby toys and christmas decorations. 

And now we've arrived at the house. Although it might look like we've been toliet papered inside, that is actually just the wallpaper. 

More fantastic wallpaper. I think I like it better on the floor than on the walls.

Here is Chelsea and my Aunt Barbara cleaning out Keldrie's room. 

Matt working in what will soon be his own little office! Actually, it isn't all that little. It is the third bedroom, but he gets it as his office until the next baby comes. 

My dad spraying down the walls. The wallpaper has to first have the top level pulled off and then the second level will scrap off if you douse it with water. 

This is our Master bedroom. That little nook over there is actually a vanity. We had to take the mirror down to get at the wallpaper behind it. There was also wallpaper underneath it. Talk about overkill! I was just happy that there wasn't any in the closets. 

Now tell me you aren't jealous of this flooring! Yeah, it is going straight in the trash!

Keldrie was not very helpful over at the house, but how cute does she look?

A Change of the Season

I know that most of my family and friends crave the summer and the sun. I like summer too, but I LOVE fall. I love the crispness in the air. I love wearing jackets and sweaters and as a short girl, I look better in pants than shorts. Shorts tend to make me look even shorter and squashed. I love wearing denim pants and jackets and layers.  But the clothing is just one of the things I love about fall.
I love the food in the fall. My Grandma makes something called Wassle which is a version of Apple Cider. It is so warm and flavorful. Cinnamon rolls start to be baked again. Yum! I also love apples. Especially carmel apples! And something I'm not good at making but am going to try sometime this week is carmel corn. I know most people like carmel corn that is all dry and more or less a flavor dusting on top of the popcorn, but the way I grew up with carmel corn, it is actually carmel poured on top of the popcorn. It is messy and gooey and wonderful!
Then there is Halloween, and corn mazes, and the changing of the leaves. I think that here in Utah we are so lucky to be able to watch the mountains change. They are so beautiful with all the orange, yellow and red.
So even though the high today is like 82 degrees, I am so excited and ready for the fall!

A Wallpaper Update!

So we are almost done with the main floor. The green ivy is gone, the border in the living room is gone too. The hallways are white. One room left. The guest bathroom. It is not pretty. But if we can get that done, I will feel like we might actually get some stuff accomplished. That just leaves the entire upstairs. 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and a hallway all covered from floor to celling in more incredible tasteful wallpaper. (Did you catch the sarcasm?)  So we are going to have another little pow-wow tomorrow for anyone that can make it.  Probably from around 10 to 3 or so. If anyone can come during that time, it would be greatly appreciated. Call or Text me if you need to know anything. I don't have any pictures right now but I might add them tonight after I'm over there today.

Wallpaper and the last of the summer pictures

Here are pretty much all the pictures I have taken since about August 15th that are worth viewing. And we start with Daddy and Keldrie in the family room. Aren't they both so cute?

Here's my Mom with Keldrie at the neighbor's pool. Keldrie has loved the pool and wanted to be in all the time. She didn't like her floaties at all though. So one of us was always holding her. 

This is when we would pack up and head home for a nap.

This is Keldrie and her friend Gracie. Gracie did wear her floaties and usually while Gracie was in the pool, Keldrie would get into her Happy Meal sack and eat any leftover fries. We are still working on that whole "those are her's, not yours" concept.

Keldrie loves to wear anyone and everyone's shoes these days. Usually only one shoe at a time.

Keldrie got stuck in her laundry basket and emptied the trash can next to it while she waited for me to run and get the camera. 

Keldrie got over her fear of the slide just in time for the weather to change. And now we head to pictures of the wallpaper in the new house! 

First of all, does anyone want this light fixture? Pretty sure it is going to find it's way to the trash can. And no, it isn't glass, it is plastic made to look like glass. And then there is the wallpaper behind it. 

Check out my awesome puke green stove top and oven. Yes, that is the OVEN above the stove top, not the microwave. I'm stuck with this one for a little while, but hey, it works! 

This is a shot up our stairs. More wonderful wallpaper! And another light fixture for sale. In fact, most every light fixture will be for sale, so just let me know if you see something you like. Actually scratch that, tell me if you want something for free! I should be paying you to take them off my hands. 

This is the guest bathroom. Awesome, huh?

This is our living room, which is the only room besides the kitchen that does not have wallpaper from floor to celing, but it does have a border and some awesome wood panelling. 

Here is Keldrie holding Jacob, Ryan and Megan's little boy. Sure he is 11 month younger and a pound heavier but she wanted to hold him. Megan, or course, is really holding them both, but still, super cute! 

Now we are going to get ready for fall! I've been buying size 18 month clothes because Kel's 12 month stuff is getting too short, but I'm thinking I will have to roll her pants at least once to keep them up on her  little hips. So far everything is sitting in her closet with the tags still on. Cannot believe that it is September already! It will be Christmas  before I know it! 

P.S. Kel now knows and likes Chuggington and Handy Manny of Playhouse Disney. So if you hear me humming their theme songs, just ignore me.
