Health Insurance

When Matt got his job at Jiffy Lube, one of the biggest blessings was that we would have health and dental insurance through an employer again. We lost our insurance when I quit my job at America First. It is a pretty big chunk of the take home pay, but in the last month, we have really needed it.


At the first of the month, I went to see my OB and she noticed that my Thyroid gland in my throat was swollen. She said that lots of things could cause that and that she just wanted to have my blood tested and see what came back. Time went by and I didn't hear anything and just forgot about it. Then a few weeks later, Kel turned one year old and thus needed to have her one year check up and shots. Less than a week later, we were back at Dr. Brown's office, getting her ears checked. She didn't have an ear infection but Dr. Brown thought that something must be bothering her and so he gave me a prescription to fill only if she developed some more symptoms. Two days later, she still had a slight fever, so I had the prescription filled.

While all of this was going on, Matt has been fighting a cold and nasty cough. The cough just keeps getting worse. So last night he asked me to call today and make an appointment for him. As I'm starting to think about how would be the best way to find a good family practitioner, my Ob's office calls with my blood results. Turns out, my thyroid levels are abnormal. The doctor wanted me to see an Endocrinologist. So now I have an appointment next week. I don't have any of the symptoms WebMD says I would be having, but I guess I will go see the specialist and see what he says. Needless to say, we have gotten good use out of our premium this month.

Keldrie's Birthday!

Here is a somewhat blurry picture of Keldrie's birthday cake. I found a realy simple pattern online, and was so happy to be able to execute it in a decent way. You can tell what it is right?

Here is Keldrie digging into her cake. She really hated to frosting for a few seconds until she figured out how yummy it was. Then she really went for it!

The next morning, Keldrie was thrilled to find all the toys in our family room! She didn't know which one to play with! Thanks everyone! This is pretty much everything I got on my camera for the night, but we did get more on the video camera. However, I still don't know how to work it all the way, so it could be a really long time before I get any video on here. We had a blast. Thank you everyone who came for making Keldrie's first birthday such a special day!

A well overdue catch up!

This top picture is of Keldrie in her new crib. Thanks Grandma Smith! When we moved, Keldrie moved from her Ambi Bed to a full size baby crib. She loves it! The bumpers are thanks to Candice and that handmade blanket is thanks to Aunt Nicole!

This next one is one of Keldrie's first attempts at eating some cereal. She really liked it, but spoons sure are tricky!

Here is Keldrie before her first swim! We've got the sun block on, now lets party! She loved the pool! This summer should be even more fun!

Okay, so I know I haven't updated this in like forever, but my laptop got a virus on it and still hasn't been fixed, and then with working and being a mom, I sort of forgot all about this blog. But I've recommited myself to updating it at least once a month! So here goes!
A lot has changed in the last 11 months. Matt and I just celebrated our 2 year anniversary and Keldrie's first birthday is later this week. Matt started a new job on March 1st. He is now the store manager at a Jiffy Lube of 2nd and Washington in Ogden. I am so proud of him. Keldrie has started walking and talking in the last month. So far her list of words includes: Mama, Da (not daddy or dada, just Da most of the time), gama( meaning grandma), Nana (meaning banana), and Uh-oh (which she says whenever the urge comes).
I am now a happy housewife. I quit my job at America First halfway through September. It has been a bit of an adjustment, but Keldrie makes me laugh and smile everyday.
