Keldrie's 2nd Birthday

It happened. My little baby girl made it to her second birthday. It feels like just a few weeks ago we were laughing at this little newborn holding her head up from day one. That's right baby, you had to know everything that was going on from the day you were born. She is so amazing, Matt and I would be so bored without her. Our house would be cleaner and we would get more sleep, but we would be bored. Seeing her turn more into a little girl and less of a baby is bittersweet to this mommy. Right now she is playing with her first doll house she got for her birthday yesterday. She is sliding the daddy, mommy, and baby down the roof. I love watching her play. Her birthday was Saturday and so the morning started with daddy making her what ever she wanted for breakfast (pancakes) and then opened the few gifts I actually saved for her birthday. Her big gift was her new bedroom sheets, but she's had those for about 2 months now.
 Waiting for her pancakes!
She's got the whole wrapping paper thing down now!
 New clothes! Mom's so excited!
A new Elmo! Hooray! She was really excited about this new, bigger Elmo for about two hours. Why only that long? I'll show you! My mom and dad came over with a gift they spend until 1 am putting together.
That's right! A new car for her second birthday! Enjoy it babe cause it's the only time this is going to happen.
Oh boy! She loves it. It is a pretty cool little car.
When we left to join my mom and grandma for lunch, she cried and had to kiss it goodbye. Now she is sitting in it and watching an Elmo movie she got for her birthday yesterday. She has enjoyed going for rides and also puts Elmo in it and pushes him.
Well, that brings us to Monday, the day of the party. Keldrie is just getting over a cold, which made it hard to get ready yesterday since she just wanted to snuggle and watch movies together. But we did manage to get to the store, where she was an angel. Plus, since she was sick, she took a deep, long nap where I was able to put up decorations and get dinner started and her cake frosted. I let Keldrie pick her cake. She chose pink cake with pink icing.
Even though she wasn't feeling that great, she was a good girl for her party. She also blew out her two candles on her first try. I wonder what she wished for!
She got tons of fabulous gifts. After she opened the first one, she was ready to eat the fruit snacks and watch the movies it had in it. She was very excited to learn that all those presents were for her.

Happy Birthday Princess! Glad you had such a great time and glad so many of our friends and family were able to come celebrate with you. Being your mommy has been more wonderful and fulfilling that I could have ever imagined. I feel so blessed that your Heavenly Father trusted me with such an incredible and special little spirit daughter of His. You have taught me so much in the short time you have been in my life. Your daddy and I love you more than life itself. Looking forward to being with you everyday as you grow up.

  1. Oh dear somehow she already seems older in those pictures, maybe it's her hair it looks long!

Brooke I am so sorry we missed the birthday it was supposed to snow in the canyon last night and I am such a chicken when it comes to that canyon in the dark with snow all by myself. Little Kel know we love you more than anything, we have your present all ready to go for you little sweetheart!

  2. Jenny, I am a wussy driver myself and can totally understand why you didn't want to do that drive. And it probably did snow in the canyon since there was snow at our house the next morning.
