Okay, here goes! Matt and I found ourselves with a little extra cash a few weeks ago thanks to a part-time job I've picked up teaching swimming lessons. So we decided that maybe we could go to Park City and also to Lagoon! So on last Wednesday, we planned it all out and headed to Lagoon for the day!
First up was Lagoon-a-Beach!
Keldrie was a little afraid of all the splashing caused by the other kids as well as the "volcano" that sprays the water but she got a little bit braver as the day went on.
Yes, I was one of those crazy people who take their cameras into the water.
After we played for a while, I wanted to get Russell out of the water and the sun. So Matt and Keldrie went and played some more while Russell and I played on the grass.
Russell got real tired after a while. It worked out great for the next part of our day. We all got dried off and changed back into our clothes and headed for the kiddie rides! Keldrie had never been on any sort of amusement ride before and I didn't know how it was going to go...
Her first ride was a little dragon "roller-coaster". It mostly spun one direction and then stopped and went backwards. She was very brave while riding with daddy. While they waited in line, Russell went to sleep and continued to sleep for about two and a half hours.
Keldrie and I went on the LadyBug Bop. She did NOT like it. At one point I said, "Wheeee!" and she yelled back "NO! DON'T DO THAT!" After that I just laughed the whole rest of the time, which probably made my attempt to comfort Keldrie by telling her that it was going to be okay come off a little insincere.
She was a little mad! But luckily, she made some friends while waiting in line for the next ride and they made sure she felt brave and had a good time. Keldrie calls them her friends in green.
Another ride with Daddy!
The Swings!
The cars!
The Airplanes!
The cars again! She did go back a third time as well.
Russell woke up in enough time to go on the Train and see all the animals! Matt and I got a kick out of the plaque that said that Lagoon's Zoo was the second largest in the state. But, honestly this time there were actually animals to see.
Keldrie was too distracted by the train to look at my camera for the 100th time that day.
After the train and a few more rides, Elaine met us at the drop off spot and took the kids back to her house for the rest of the day. That left Matt and I free to ride all the actual roller coasters together. We had a blast and none of the lines were very long. We rode a couple of the rides twice and since we haven't been to Lagoon since I was pregnant with Keldrie, (although I didn't know it at the time) there were a few new rides we had to do! Matt and I had such a blast! And we are so thankful for Elaine for not only watching the kids but driving down to pick them up.
Next up with be our over-nighter in Park City!
