Autumn- Bring it on!

Autumn, I love you!
Apples everywhere- pie, tarts, Carmel, cider, plain, dipped in peanut butter.
Cozy clothes- sweaters, boots, slippers, jackets, hats.
Pumpkins on porches, wassail and hot chocolate in mugs, nights snuggled under a blanket with my two favorite people while we watch a move. (My mom just bought us The Lion King)
I could go on. But I won't. Mostly because I have to be to pack meeting in 45 minutes and I have lots to get to before that.

A few weeks ago, I talked about one of my girlfriends who was going to host a girls craft night. Well, last Friday we had our first one. I am not a crafty person, but I did find something that I thought matched my skill level.
And I was actually right. I didn't ruin it. In fact, I still like the colors I choose. I'm even going to replace the current pumpkin decoration on my front door with it, once I get some ribbon to hang it with.

The bow looks bigger than it really is in this picture. Yarn, foam ring, some string, a couple pieces of felt and a glue gun. It was pretty easy, actually. But time consuming. My fore-arm sure burned after wrapping the yarn around this ring hundreds of times. But still, time well spent!

I also TRIED to make some Carmel corn. But as I forgot an ingredient, it hardened up real quick. It was  pretty good so long as you ate it before it cooled all the way.

Besides that, the weather has finally realized that it is fall and has dumped rain for the last two days off and on. When it first came down yesterday, Kel and I went out to the carport to watch and I even let her play in a puddle a little. I didn't want her clothes to get all wet, so I put her in her bath robe. She had a ball and has hardly stopped talking about rain, wind and puddles since.

The sun came out right after and it dried out a little. Later in the day, we headed out to my mom's house. My cousin Candace and her 8 kids are in town visiting for about a week and a half. Yesterday they stopped by my Mom's house while we were there. Candace's oldest, Hunter, is 16 and was born the same day as my brother, Tyler. Her youngest, Ty, is about 6 weeks older than Keldrie.

The two of them shared the swing in Mom's backyard for a while. They also jumped on the trampoline with the rest of the kids. All in all, Keldrie loved every minute they were there. I don't know why I didn't take any other pictures, but I didn't.

So I am very excited to welcome Fall. I went to Ross today to find me a new purse and made a wonderful discovery. Ross has a maternity section. I found a pair of yoga pants and a sweater. I did find a purse as well as some footie pajamas for Keldrie. Last, but maybe my favorite purchase, was the first Christmas present of the year. It is a Thomas Tank Engine track set! Yahoo! Now I just have to hope Kel forgets she saw it so it will be a surprise on December 25th.

Have a wonderful October, friends!

  1. Have I ever told you the story of Lance discovering his entire Christmas, remind me to tell you that one, it's so sad...

I love your craft there, good job I think you and I fall under the same crafting catergory!

Kel's bath robe is about the cutest thing I have ever seen, I just love that picture of her splashing away in the puddle, just so cute!
