Update on the Thyroid

Well, here we go again. Unlike Keldrie carelessly snoozing the morning away,  I actually got to talk to Dr. Winmill about my results today. Someone called me last week, but it was one of the other doctor's nurses since mine was on vacation. I got off the phone more confused than ever. But I called today and told them my concerns and then they called me back with some sort of good news, I guess. My levels are slightly better. But it doesn't really look like I'm on my way to recovery.  Dave Winmill said that he doesn't want to do just anything yet, since medication is very tricky when it comes to this. They have to make sure they don't overcorrect my thyroid.  So now I am going to be making an appointment around the end of May.  My doctor told me to just pay attention to what my body is doing and to call right away if I get any symptoms like a racing heartbeat, difficulty breathing or muscele weakness. The symptoms of hypothyroidism seem to sound a lot like the side effects of a lot of medication.  If I develop a fever, I am suppose to call and he will get me in right away. But so far, the only problem I have had is that I got dizzy one day, but I was really tired, so I don't know if my thyroid had anything to do with it.

Besides that, our family is doing good. Matt has just a few things left to do for the school semester and then he will be all done until August. Keldrie is doing something surprising everyday. Like yesterday when my Mom was holding her next to the microwave and she reached over and turned on the light underneath.  She really enjoyed turning it on and off for a few minutes.

Keldrie loves going outside. She will go outside anytime, anywhere, with anybody.

She also thinks that when she goes from the sidewalk to the grass that she needs to step down, or crawl or hold someone's hand in order to make the transition. But she is loving this weather and all the time outside. She got a small rash on her legs on Sunday after playing outside, so I'm thinking she might have a slight allergy, but it went away really fast.
Here she is out on our tiny little deck at the apartment. So far she is loving blowing bubbles and looking at the trees outside.  There is a little park here at the apartments with a small jungle gym she might get to play on later in the summer if her legs grow enough that she can go up the steps. She has got a runny nose and the sneezes this morning, but besides that we are loving spring!

  1. Well I am glad you at least got some kind of answer, I bet you are just going crazy with not knowing for sure what is going on. Keldrie that is so funny she needs a hand going from sidewalk to grass I could see how that would be daunting for a one year old!
