Well, I took absolutely no pictures of our Thanksgiving. I know. But so I can at least remember some of it, we had dinner at my Aunt Barbara's house. It was delicious, however, my Aunt Jacki made quite the entrance when she dropped the glass container she had the fudge in and it shattered all over the tile floor. Such a shame we had to throw away all the fudge. The conversation was great and so was the dinner. My grandma has quite a way with stuffing. After dinner there, we went over to Matt's mom's house and had more rolls and pie. The kids ran around and had a fantastic time and Matt and I had a good time as well. And since Matt has just started a new job, he also had Thanksgiving day and the next day off. Which was great, because I had some shopping to do between the two days and having him home made it much easier to do! :) The thing I was really after was a new camera. And I was quite successful. I grabbed the one I wanted and I have been practicing with it. I finally uploaded the first batch of pictures and so here is what we have been up to for the last week or so!
Keldrie was happy to be my model as I practiced the features of the portrait mode.
I know, Russell, that is how I feel in the morning too!
It has been so frigid cold that playing outside is probably not even safe, let alone desirable. So we headed off to McDonald's for some food and a chance to get the wiggles out.
Again, because of the cold, we have been doing lots of art.
And hiding in the tent!
The first few presents have gotten wrapped and are under the tree.
And I have trimmed my rather sad and over-used tree. But after Russell proceeded to rip off ever ornament on the bottom half of the tree the day after I set it up, I decided I really just don't care. So far, he has left the presents alone.
And that is our first week of December. We have the annual Smith Ecuadorian Christmas Party (hosted by my SIL from Ecuador) tomorrow night and we are very excited. I also helped with the Relief Society Christmas Social and am happy to report that I managed to cook my ham just right. Warm, but not overdone.
We are continuing to adjust (and love) Matt's new job, which has him working much few hours per day than his two part time ones. Matt is feeling a bit overwhelmed as he tries to learn everything he can before the guy he is replacing leaves for good. Russell is loving being able to wrestle and play with his daddy instead of just getting a kiss goodnight when Dad comes home from the day. Having dinner as a family has been down right heavenly. Not to mention Matt's help in getting the kids to bed. Tonight, we are having a proper date night. Dinner and the temple! Yahoo!
