On Thursday, my mommy-play-date group headed up to the Zoo. A lot of people couldn't come, but some of the women brought new friends to join us. I think there were 8 of us. Plus one husband! It was such a blast!
Our first stop was the elephants. A big favorite because of the baby elephant. Keldrie has really gotten the whole mother-father-baby thing in her head lately and she loves to see this theory in real life. It also makes it hard for me to explain things when a mommy or daddy is not there. She has reached that part of childhood where she is beginning to think about death and loss. But more on that another time.
This little man was so happy, just pleased to sit in his stroller and see the kids around him and sure, some of the animals were cool too.
Keldrie kept telling me that this was an eel. I was trying to tell her that it is an otter, but no, it is an eel. Oh well. Next to Keldrie is our friend Logan.
This handsome man is named Kai. This was his first trip to the Zoo. He was an angel. He woke up twice to eat, but besides that, he just slept the afternoon away.
This is Kai's big sister, Peyton. Keldrie and Peyton are the best of friends. Keldrie was a little bit of a bad influence on her at the Zoo, kept taking her hand and running away from the group. (Sorry Dave and Shina!)
The giraffes! There was a baby here as well. You could go up top and see them better, but no stroller access, so this is the best we could manage for a picture.
There was lots of construction going on, they are putting a new, really big exhibit in where the animals won't be so pinned in, more open to roam.
Keldrie is already planning our next trip back! So much fun!
