Happy Mother's Day!

I did not find my camera cord....but, I stole my mom's.

Shh, don't tell her. She doesn't know. Honestly she probably would never know if I don't tell her, considering the camera the cord belongs to was next to it with no batteries in it and I'm pretty sure she won't be taking up photography anytime soon. She is about to graduate with her medical assisting degree, so she is busy.

So, now that I have the cord and have uploaded 120 new pictures, where should I start? Since it is 10 pm on Mother's Day Sunday, I figure I'll tell you about my Mother's Day. I'll try and catch up on everything else real soon.

It all started at 1:14 am, Russell woke up to tell me happy Mother's Day! Only really he wanted to eat. So I fed him and told him he needed to go back to sleep. He did. And honestly, I was worried that I was about to have a rough night since he usually wakes up at 3 to eat and then again between 5:30 and 6. But he was an angel and slept until 6:45, which frankly is the longest period of unbroken sleep I've gotten in a while. This may also contribute to the still energized feeling I have right now, when I am usually totally finished by this time of night. Okay, that and the piece of lemon bunt cake I ate 3 hours ago.

Since Russell woke us up at a pretty good time, we just stayed awake when he was done eating and talked for a few minutes. Then Keldrie woke up and joined us and the four of us snuggled in our bed for a few more minutes. Then it was time to get up and moving. For the first year of our marriage, Matt and I struggled to get to church on time, and our ward started at 10! (I will take most of the blame for that.) Now we do pretty good at getting to church at 9 with two children. I'm quite proud of it. While I was in the shower, I heard Matt come down the hall and get into our bedroom closet.  I figured that must have been where he hid my Mother's Day present.

When I got out of the shower, my sweet family was waiting for me with my presents all wrapped and ready to open. I got a hand sugar scrub from Keldrie (my mom helped her make it), some bubble bath made to relax me from Russell, and a beautiful bracelet from Matt that I will take a picture of if I remember. A sweet card came with it as well.

Church was great. Our ward has a tradition of having all of the men take over any teaching responsibilities that the women have in the ward so all of them can go to Relief Society. Matt was assigned to help in nursery with Keldrie. The Bishop even gave the lesson in Relief Society, so no one had worry there either. The Young Women joined us too. Sunday school was interesting (in a good way) and Sacrament meeting was great, but I consider any meeting great if it means getting out early and not having to wrestle Keldrie for those last 10 minutes. Really, Keldrie does much better now than she used to. She now hardly has to go out for being noisy. We are very impressed by her.

After church, Matt helped me make lunch and then after getting both kids to take a nap, we made snicker doodle cookies together for my family's party. Keldrie woke up 15 minutes before time to leave and off we headed to my Aunt Teri's house. We had Navajo tacos and mud pie, among other things.

The kids over here are hilarious because they are all so full of personality. Keldrie, Brynlie, and Averie all got dressed up and then came to show us.  They kept us laughing the whole time. My sister was in town and so she and her little guy, Hudson were there as well. I'll post more about her visit soon.

After getting our bellies quite full here, we headed over to Elaine and Steve's house to be with Matt's family. Because we just had to see them and see how much more food we could consume before the day was over. Turns out it was quite a lot. We got to see all but one of Matt's brother's and Keldrie got to see all of her cousins on this side.

Russell played on the floor while everyone ate their dinner

Andrew was looking pretty sleepy in his high chair during dinner time.

Keldrie always manages to get a Popsicle over at Grandma Smith's house. Lucky for her, Grandma always makes sure to have plenty.

This picture is blurry, but how adorable are these two playing soccer together?

Keldrie and Katelynn (who is now taller than Keldrie, despite being over a year younger) in the last light of the evening.

Keldrie's very messy but also very happy face as we drove home tonight. She was promptly thrown into the bath and then her bed, where she lost consciousness very quickly. It was not a good idea to put a white shirt on her today.

It was a great day. We had a blast and come to think of it, maybe the reason I have so much energy is the same reason Matt is very close to exhaustion, because he has done a great job of making sure I have had a great, relaxing Mother's Day!
