First off, no I am not pregnant. The pregnant lady would be my big sister, Nicole, who is visiting from Arizona. She even brought her husband, Cameron! Lucky guy. Nicole has about 2 and 1/2 months left until her due date and we are all so excited. So here's how our weekend started. We ran down to American Fork to pick something up from Ryan and to see Ryan and Megan's new house down there. We were running a little behind and didn't get to play very long. Or take any pictures.
Keldrie was mad when we put her back in the car, and who can blame her? After telling her we were going to meet up with Grandma, Papa (her newest form of Grandpa), Nicole and Cameron she did calm down a bit. We hooked up at Gateway and grabbed an early dinner. Z Tejas. Anyone been there before? It was a first for all three of us. And it was pretty good! After dinner we went across the way to Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. Why? Because the pregnant lady was in charge and none of us questioned her. Not that I wasn't plenty happy to buy myself a Carmel apple. Yum!
Well, the plan was to head over to temple square after dinner. And head we did. The lights sure are amazing down there at Christmas time, but have you ever been during the time when the tulips are blooming? Incredible. I was shocked with how beautiful the grounds were. Plus, it wasn't very busy so we got lots of time to look around and take pictures. We spent the most time looking at the incredibly detailed model of the temple they have in the South visitors center. If you haven't been for a few years, check it out. You can see where some of the rooms are in relation to the outside of the building. The coolest rooms to see (in my humble opinion) are the Council room for the First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve and the Assembly Room. The Assembly Room is so massive! Quite amazing what the pioneers were able to do in 40 years. You can tell how much they must have loved the temple from the dedication in giving their best work to it. I might be biased a little, but none of the Cathedrals I saw in Europe can compare to the Salt Lake Temple.
Whoops, got side tracked. Back to our evening at the Square.
Nothing quite like the reflection pool. Whoever's idea that was was thinking! Of course, there is not much to find wrong with the few blocks that make up Temple Square. Especially on a beautiful spring day like yesterday was.
Looking at the camera and smiling on cue, not exactly Keldrie's strong points. Matt sure looks handsome though, doesn't he?
Here's Nicole and Cameron in front of the Temple. Pretty cute little bump, isn't it?
We can finish the night with a shot of the flowers. Have any of the Temple Square gardeners written books about making your front yard look like this? I would totally invest in one. Now that we've got our own little home, I am really feeling the need to plant me some flowers!
I did say weekend, didn't I? Well today (Sat) was Nicole's baby shower. We had lots of fun, but I only got one decent picture and it's of the presents. Pretty exciting huh?
Can you tell from the bags that she is expecting a boy? We are so excited to be getting a cousin on my side of the family. Takes some of the pressure of f Keldrie to be a genius, an artist, a music prodigy, and all those other ideas that Grandmas dream about.
That's about all for me tonight folks! Hope everyone had a great weekend!
That's true I never think about going to temple square in the springtime, it is gorgeous there!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun weekend with your sister, I bet you were so happy to have her around. Only two and a half months left huh, Kel will have a new cousin in no time!
